Think early breakfasts, a sibling at Northcliffe Beach and a proper return after the matches. - Tag: Travel tips --- By breakfast, the family may already have three different plans. Someone is due at volleyball. Someone else wants to watch the afternoon game. The youngest has packed a beach towel and considers the matter settled. At Marriner Views, a large dining table is a good place to work out who is going where. The [Australian Volleyball Schools Cup](https://avsc.volleyball.org.au/) runs on the Gold Coast from **Sunday 6 to Saturday 12 December 2026**. Fern Street can be the address for parents and supporters who want to share an apartment while following the school competition. Check the school's own accommodation and supervision arrangements for students first. ## Morning: enough room to get out the door There are 180 square metres in every Marriner apartment, with two bathrooms and separate living and sleeping areas. Breakfast need not occupy the same space as an open suitcase. The kitchen has an oven, stovetop and dishwasher; the refrigerator is full-size. You can make something before leaving and keep supplies for the people returning later. A Superior Two-Bedroom sleeps up to six. The two three-bedroom options accommodate up to seven, with a hired rollaway for the seventh guest. Talk through the actual sleeping arrangements when booking, particularly when grandparents, siblings and a player are travelling together. These are fan-cooled apartments, with ceiling and standing fans and a cross-breeze layout. **There is no air-conditioning.** Individual furnishings and outlooks vary. The first-floor three-bedroom looks towards the pool, while the Three-Bedroom Ocean View is on level 19. Choose the arrangement that will suit the whole week, including the hours spent indoors. ## Match time: follow the division's address A Gold Coast tournament is not a single destination. The organiser lists indoor venues in Carrara, Coomera and Runaway Bay, while its daily schedule also names A.B. Paterson. Check the [venue list](https://avsc.volleyball.org.au/venues/) and the school's allocation before organising lifts. Nobody benefits from reaching the right suburb with the wrong court address. The published [key dates](https://avsc.volleyball.org.au/event-information/key-dates/) list division venues for release on **16 November** and the draft draw on **23 November**. A useful family plan records the venue, the time the player must report and who is doing the return journey. A match finish alone may not cover every school commitment. Marriner includes one basement car space per apartment, with **2-metre clearance**. Check the height of a loaded vehicle. Florida Gardens station is 750 metres away for other coastal outings, but a tram ride is only one possible part of a trip to the sports venues. Settle tournament transport with the school and check the [official draw](https://avsc.volleyball.org.au/draw/) for updates. ## Afterwards: give the day back to the family Northcliffe Beach is just 50 metres across the road. Someone who has stayed at the apartment can walk to the sand without waiting for the car to return. BMD Northcliffe Surf Club is 350 metres away, and the apartment kitchen remains an option when the group wants dinner at different times. The outdoor saltwater pool is heated to 26°C. There is a covered BBQ area, gardens and a shared reading and sitting room, so a supporting family has more than one place to spend an unscheduled afternoon. Use the apartment's washing machine and dryer for towels and kit before the next day's pile begins. Marriner has two apartments on each floor and quiet hours from 9 pm to 7 am. Keep the late conversation indoors and quiet when an early start is waiting. Check-in is 2–5 pm; contact the property about a later arrival in advance.
