There are two Saturdays to talk about when the group starts planning Magic Millions: 9 and 16 January 2027. Someone may want both racedays. Someone else may be interested in Sunday polo, while another is simply pleased to have a reason for a week near Northcliffe Beach. Agree on the attendance before trying to agree on every hour of the holiday.
The carnival runs 6–18 January. Marriner Views puts 180 square metres around the days you choose, with separate bedrooms and two bathrooms for people keeping different schedules. Fern Street is between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach; Northcliffe Beach is 50 metres across the road.
Decide which Saturday brings you here
On 9 January, the official race programme lists a twilight Gold Coast meeting including The Wave and Sunlight. The main 16 January raceday includes the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and 3YO Guineas. Both belong to the Turf Club outing at Bundall.
A stay across both weekends leaves the intervening days for other plans. A shorter visit can centre on one meeting instead. Choose with the actual attendees in mind, then check Turf Club ticket and visitor information for the meeting you want. Check-in at Marriner runs 2–5 pm, so make the first day’s timing work for both the apartment and the event.
Sunday goes in a different direction
10 January brings polo and showjumping at Doug Jennings Park, on The Spit in Main Beach. It has its own admission and transport arrangements. The organiser lists shuttle departures from The Star and the Surfers Paradise Transit Centre; check the published boarding and return information for that day.
Florida Gardens station is 750 metres from Marriner for a coastal connection. Use Translink to plan any journey to a shuttle stop, allowing for the walk from Fern Street too. A group using its own car has one basement space at the apartment, with a 2-metre clearance. Settle the driver’s plan before someone else promises the car to a beach excursion.
Share the apartment without sharing every ticket
One guest can put the kettle on before an early departure while another has breakfast later. There is a full-size refrigerator and an oven and stovetop for the food you bring, with a dishwasher for the meal afterwards. Clothes can go through the apartment’s washing machine and dryer while people are out.
The Superior Two-Bedroom sleeps up to six. Three-bedroom layouts accommodate up to seven with a rollaway for the seventh guest. The first-floor option looks over the pool, while the Three-Bedroom Ocean View is on level 19. A specific allocation should be discussed at booking rather than inferred from another apartment’s photograph.
Marriner is fan-cooled, with no air-conditioning. Its cross-breeze layout is part of the stay, and the FAQs carry the weekday construction disclosure for anyone expecting daytime rest. Make those details part of the group decision while there is still time to choose.
The middle of the week can be ordinary
Walk across to Northcliffe Beach. Take a swim in the outdoor saltwater pool, heated to 26°C. The covered BBQ area gives the group a place for a shared meal when it has spent the day apart. There is also a spa, sauna and steam room.
For an outing away from the sand, SkyPoint is 950 metres from the building and Cavill Avenue is 1.5 km away. Kurrawa Beach lies 1.9 km south. These local choices give the person missing a race meeting something of their own to look forward to.
