# Gold Coast 500 2026: walking distance, sleeping distance

> The Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 runs 23 to 25 October 2026. The street circuit sits in central Surfers Paradise, a stroll north of Fern Street. Far enough from the cordon to sleep, close enough to walk in for the racing.

The **Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500** returns on **23, 24 and 25 October 2026** for another round of Supercars racing on the Surfers Paradise street circuit. A 2.96-kilometre, 15-turn layout, two chicanes, support categories, and a weekend of V8 noise rolling through a beach-town spring. Most accommodation pages inside the race cordon talk about the hairpin at the end of the street; the case for staying south of the circuit is different. From Fern Street you can walk in for the racing, then walk back to a quiet apartment that isn't sitting under a grandstand.

## The circuit, and where you sit on it

The 2026 layout is the same loop used since 2010: up the Gold Coast Highway, across Ferny Avenue, out along the Esplanade past the beachfront grandstands, then back south through the chicanes to Hairpin T14 at the Tedder Avenue end of Main Beach. The whole thing sits in the heart of Surfers Paradise, north of Fern Street.

- The walk from Marriner Views to the **Cavill Avenue entry** is about fifteen minutes north along the beach or the Oceanway.
- **Florida Gardens G:link station** is 750 metres from the door (9 min walk). **Surfers Paradise** and **Cavill Avenue** stations are one and two stops north, dropping you at the gates. **Surfers Paradise North** is the next stop again, the best exit for the Esplanade side.
- Cars cannot cross the track during sessions, but pedestrian access for residents and accommodation guests is maintained through designated gates around the perimeter. Supercars publishes the year's community and traffic plan, including gate locations and ID requirements, at [supercars.com/gold-coast-resident-information](https://www.supercars.com/gold-coast-resident-information). Read it before travelling.

If you've sat in race-week traffic on the Gold Coast Highway before, you'll appreciate what the walking distance buys you at the end of each day, and what staying south of the cordon buys you at the start of it.

## What the weekend looks like

Detailed sessions publish closer to the date, but the shape has been stable for years:

- **Friday.** Practice and qualifying. Quieter crowds, shorter queues, cheaper single-day GA. Good day for kids and a wander through the infield, the Gen3 display and the support pit walk without the Saturday crush.
- **Saturday.** Full support card alongside championship-race day-one action. Paddock and fan zones at their best.
- **Sunday.** The main championship race. Support racing, fireworks, the chequered flag. The day to pick if you're only going once.

General admission from **AU$76 per day** lets you roam with a chair or a blanket. **Fanstand and grandstand** from **AU$93 per day**; the **Pit Lane Walk upgrade** from **AU$30** adds the behind-the-scenes access. Tickets at [supercars.com](https://www.supercars.com/events/2026-gold-coast/tickets-and-packages).

Bring ear protection. V8s on a confined street circuit are louder than you remember.

## The honest noise disclosure

The cars are loud and they run from morning until late. Marriner Views sits about 1.5 km south of the cordon, outside the perimeter and well clear of the grandstands, but V8 noise carries across Surfers in still air and a Friday morning practice session is audible from upper-floor apartments even at this end of the suburb. It's softer than sleeping under the grandstand, and the cross-breeze layout means windows open at night with sea air rather than circuit air. If absolute quiet is the priority of your trip, this is not the weekend. If you're here for the racing, you're staying on the right side of that trade.

## Getting around without the car

The G:link is the best decision you can make for the weekend. Translink usually publishes an expanded race-week timetable on [ridetheg.com.au](https://ridetheg.com.au/) closer to the event, with **Cavill Avenue**, **Surfers Paradise** and **Surfers Paradise North** along the circuit and **Florida Gardens** at our end. A **go explore pass** covers unlimited light rail and Translink bus on weekends and public holidays, the move if you want to head south to Broadbeach for dinner after racing finishes.

Driving is an option, but parking inside the cordon is severely limited and the one-way diversions change daily. Marriner Views includes **complimentary undercover parking**, one secure space per apartment, **2-metre clearance**. Leave the car and walk or tram. Don't plan to move it much between Friday morning and Sunday night; check Supercars' resident traffic plan for the access windows.

## Why book here, and book early

- Fifteen-minute walk north along the Oceanway to the south end of the precinct.
- South of the cordon, so road closures don't trap you in or out.
- **Complimentary undercover parking** included; leave the car and walk.
- **Fully equipped kitchens** for the big race-morning breakfast and the proper meal after Sunday's chequered flag, when every Cavill restaurant is three deep at the door.
- **Heated saltwater pool** at 26°C, **large heated spa**, **sauna**, **steam room**. The recovery room after a long day in the grandstand.
- **180-square-metre apartments**, two per floor, private balcony, cross-breeze layout. Spring nights with windows open, sea air through the apartment.

Accommodation within easy walking distance of the circuit is a limited pool and race-weekend demand is predictable; book several months ahead.

## Book for October 2026
