Getting six or seven people through a Gold Coast festival day takes more than a list of activities. Breakfast needs a table. Everyone needs a bathroom at once. The youngest runs out of energy before the oldest has finished. Kidchella supplies the fun; the apartment needs to make the edges work.
The festival runs 10am to 4pm on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September 2026 at the Surfers Paradise Sign. Entry is free, and Marriner Views sits 1.5 km from Cavill Avenue in the quieter stretch between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach.
Surfers Paradise family accommodation for larger groups
Every Marriner apartment is 180 square metres, with two bathrooms, a full kitchen, laundry, lounge, dining area and private balcony. There are only two apartments on each floor. For a family group, that means breakfast happens around one table and the day bag can be packed without blocking the front door.
The two-bedroom apartment sleeps up to six. Both three-bedroom options sleep up to seven, with the first-floor apartment looking over the pool and the 19th-floor apartment carrying the ocean outlook. The right choice depends on the people coming, but the floor area does not change. That is what larger families need from group accommodation: enough beds without giving up shared living space.
Make breakfast, fill water bottles and leave the car in its complimentary basement space. Each apartment has one space with 2-metre clearance.
How to get to Kidchella from Marriner Views
Kidchella takes place at 2 Esplanade, Surfers Paradise. Cavill Avenue is 1.5 km from Marriner Views, while Florida Gardens G:link station is 750 metres away. The organiser recommends riding the tram to Cavill Avenue or using active travel, and warns that parking near the event may be limited.
A group with prams may prefer the tram. Older children may vote for the beachfront walk north. Decide before leaving, then keep the day free of another car park.

Split up, meet at the Ferris wheel
The line-up suits different ages. Live DJ sets and the silent disco cover the dancers. Street-style hoops, a skate zone and beach rugby take care of children who need to run. The Art Studio and Glam Bar offer a creative break, while the Ferris wheel gives the group an easy place to come back together.
There is no admission fee and the programme repeats across both days. That makes splitting up workable. One adult can take a younger child to make art while the older ones try skating, then everyone can meet for the Ferris wheel without feeling that a paid session has been missed.
Build in a proper pause. Six hours outdoors is a long stretch, and the Surfers Paradise beachfront is close enough to the apartment that leaving early is a sensible option. Sunday remains available for the activities that did not fit.
Let the apartment handle the aftermath
Back at Marriner Views, sandy clothes go straight into the washing machine and the full-size refrigerator holds an early dinner for whenever the group is ready. The apartments are fan-cooled rather than air-conditioned, with a dual-aspect layout that draws a cross-breeze between the ocean and hinterland sides.
The heated saltwater pool stays at 26°C year-round. There is also a large heated spa, sauna, steam room, tennis court and covered BBQ area. A child who sat down halfway through Kidchella may find a second wind by the pool; the adults have somewhere to stop moving.
Northcliffe Beach is across the road for the next morning. No programme, no queue. Just the patrolled sand one minute from the building, then a full apartment to come back to.
