# Pacific Airshow Gold Coast 2026 from Surfers Paradise

> The Pacific Airshow returns to Surfers Paradise on 14 to 16 August 2026 after the 2025 cancellation. The display flies over the ocean opposite Cavill Avenue, fifteen minutes north along the sand. Here's how to plan the weekend without sleeping above the crowd.

The **Pacific Airshow Gold Coast** returns on **14, 15 and 16 August 2026** for three days of flight above Surfers Paradise Beach. The 2025 edition was called off after Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred and a run of king tides stripped the sand back past the airshow precinct; with the beach rebuilt through summer, the 2026 return lands in its traditional August slot. Geography decides whether the weekend is a crowded day out or a slow one. The southern end of Surfers Paradise, between the Cavill crowd and the Broadbeach dining row, is the quieter answer.

## What the show is, and where it happens

The Australian edition of the long-running Huntington Beach event launched here in 2023; with 2025 lost to weather, 2026 is its third running on the Gold Coast. More than 270,000 spectators lined the sand across the 2024 weekend by the organisers' count. 2026 returns with the usual mix of Australian and international performers, jet-team demos and civilian aerobatic acts.

The display happens **over the ocean**. The organisers buoy off a sterile aerobatic box in the water, patrolled by Queensland Police and on-water security through the flying window. The ticketed precinct runs along the sand opposite **Cavill Avenue**, with Show Centre, Premium, Cabana and Hospitality zones across the beachfront. Because the flying is offshore, the show is visible from a long stretch of coast north and south of the precinct, including the Northcliffe sand directly across Fern Street.

The closest views are inside the ticketed precinct. If you want the taxiing, pre-flight and commentary feed, that's the place. If you want the show without the crowd density, the coastline immediately south of Cavill works too, and an upper-floor balcony at Marriner Views catches the flying without leaving the apartment.

## The weekend schedule

- **Gates 9:00 am** each day inside the ticketed precinct.
- **Flying display roughly 10:00 am to 3:30 pm**, weather and performer dependent.
- **All three days run the full lineup**. If one day is weather-affected, the others are the backup.

No night display. Daytime show, winter light, flat water. Line-of-sight conditions are about as good as an Australian airshow gets.

## Where this end of Surfers Paradise fits on the map

From the door, the Cavill precinct is a fifteen-to-twenty-minute walk north along the beach or the Oceanway, or two stops on the **G:link** from **Florida Gardens** to **Cavill Avenue**. Same line that runs up through Main Beach to Helensvale.

Two reasons that proximity matters. First, the show is watchable from Northcliffe Beach across Fern Street and from the Oceanway running north. A more distant view than the ticketed seating, but uninterrupted along the water and a fraction of the crowd density that builds up north of Cavill. Morning swim out front, unhurried walk north, and the jets are overhead by the time you're comfortable.

Second, if you do have tickets, the tram is the sensible route in. Esplanade and cross-street closures are standard for the weekend; the organisers publish the full list closer to the event and Queensland Police run the perimeter. Driving in and parking is actively discouraged. The G:link ran extra services in 2024 with discounted fares for ticket holders; check [ridetheg.com.au](https://ridetheg.com.au/) the week before the event for the 2026 arrangement.

## Tickets, or not

Several zones. **General Admission** and **Show Centre** are standing or picnic-rug areas, no seating. **Premium GA** and **Cabana** include seating. **Hospitality** adds shade and catering. Child, Concession and Accessible tickets available; presale through the organisers' newsletter. Current prices, zone map and 2026 performer list at [pacificairshowaus.com](https://pacificairshowaus.com/).

Travelling with kids, older family, or no appetite for August sun from ten in the morning? The seated tiers earn their keep. Happy on the sand with a hat and water? The free view from Northcliffe has its own case.

## A four-day stay, not three

Friday-to-Sunday show, but Thursday-to-Monday is the comfortable booking window. Thursday gives a relaxed arrival before the first day's crowd surge. Friday is typically the quieter show day. Saturday and Sunday are the headline days. Monday is a slow coffee on the Broadbeach mall or along Surf Parade and a walk along the sand before the flight home, road closures lifted.

From Marriner Views you get the show's core trade-off without its main cost: close enough to walk or tram in, far enough that you're not sleeping above the crowd. **180-square-metre apartments**, two per floor, private balcony, ocean outlook on upper floors. Heated saltwater pool at 26°C and a heated spa for the late afternoon when the show ends and the crowd starts walking south.

A note on views: outlooks vary apartment to apartment. Floors **17 and above** have ocean views, with the 19th-floor 3-bedroom the headline ocean apartment. The first-floor 3-bedroom is pool-side without an ocean view. If a balcony view of the show matters, raise it as a preference at booking; allocation depends on availability but the team will try to match it.
