The Pacific Airshow Gold Coast flies again on 14, 15 and 16 August 2026, three days of aerobatics over Surfers Paradise Beach after the 2025 edition was lost to Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred and a run of king tides that stripped the sand back past the precinct, since rebuilt. What that weekend feels like depends on where you sleep, and the southern end of Surfers, out toward Broadbeach, is the roomy, unhurried end.
The space, and who isn’t beside you
Marriner Views is built two apartments to a floor. Each one runs to 180 square metres, with a private balcony and dual-aspect windows that pull a cross-breeze from the ocean side through to the hinterland side, so the apartments stay comfortable on ceiling and standing fans. On the higher floors the outlook is the Pacific: floors 17 and above carry ocean views, with the 19th-floor three-bedroom the headline apartment for the weekend. It is a lot of room for a group, and only one neighbour on the landing. Down at this end of the beach, a kilometre and a half south of Cavill Avenue, the airshow crowd never really arrives.
Where the flying happens
The Pacific Airshow is the Australian run of the long-standing Huntington Beach event, first flown here in 2023; with 2025 called off, 2026 is only its third staging on the Gold Coast. More than 270,000 people lined the sand across the 2024 weekend by the organisers’ count, and 2026 keeps the usual mix of Australian and international performers, jet-team formations and civilian aerobatic acts.
The display sits over the ocean. The organisers buoy a sterile aerobatic box offshore, held by Queensland Police and on-water security while the jets are up. The ticketed precinct lines the sand opposite Cavill Avenue, with Show Centre, Premium, Cabana and Hospitality zones spread along the beachfront. Because the box is out on the water, the show carries a long way up and down the coast, the quiet Northcliffe sand across Fern Street included.
From the Broadbeach end of the sand
Marriner sits between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach, and Broadbeach is the closer of the two, a short walk south for dinner. For the show, though, you are looking north: the aerobatic box is offshore from Cavill, a fifteen-to-twenty-minute walk up the beach or the Oceanway, or a short tram ride up the G:link from Florida Gardens to Cavill Avenue.
From the Northcliffe sand across Fern Street, and from the path heading north, the flying is perfectly watchable, further off than the ticketed seating but uninterrupted over the water and clear of the crush around Cavill. Swim out front, wander north, and the jets are overhead by the time you have settled. With tickets, take the tram in: the Esplanade and its cross-streets close over the weekend, the perimeter is policed, and driving in is a poor idea. Gate times and the flying window
- Gates from 9:00 am, inside the ticketed precinct each day.
- Flying from about 10:00 am until 3:30 pm, subject to weather and which performers are up.
- The full program runs all three days, so a weather-hit day has two backups.
Nothing flies after dark. It is a daytime program, winter light over flat water, and the viewing does not get much cleaner than that.
Tickets, or the free sand
The precinct breaks into a few zones. General Admission and Show Centre are standing or picnic-rug ground with no seat. Premium GA and Cabana come with a seat. Hospitality bundles in shade and food. With young kids or older family, the seated tiers earn their price; happy on the sand with a hat and water, and the free view from Northcliffe holds up on its own.
Give it four days
The show runs Friday to Sunday, but Thursday to Monday is the easier booking: a calm Thursday arrival ahead of the first-day surge, the quieter Friday, the headline Saturday and Sunday, then a Monday coffee on the Broadbeach mall and a last walk along the sand once the road closures lift.
When the flying ends and the crowd starts its walk south, the pool is the reward: a heated saltwater pool at 26°C and a heated spa. Outlooks differ from one apartment to the next, so if a balcony view of the show matters, flag it as a preference when you book; allocation depends on availability, but the team will try to match it.
